Wilhite's Weekend Welcoming - Expanded Edition - October 12, 2008 |

Thank you for all of the e-mails with prayers and words of encouragement sent our way. The Lord heard every prayer and was gracious in every way. As I write this, it is the Lord’s day here in Japan and still Saturday in the States. Shellee is asleep on the hospital bed, and the newest Wilhite is in his little isolet bed next to me (finally) asleep. He reminds us a lot of Malachi in the way he looks – but then again – so did most of the boys when they were born.
For those of you dying to know his name and stats, you can scroll down to the bottom of the e-mail. (This would be the cue for Pastor BP to skip the rest of the lengthy article and get to the “facts” :o) ) However, I would like to begin with the story of his name and why it was chosen. As most of you know, we pick first names because of their meaning and as a testimony to the Lord. The Middle names honor someone(s) who has played an important role in our lives. So here goes . . . :o) |

Wilhite's Wet Weekday Writings - October 7, 2008 |
Today is Shellee’s due date with the latest edition of /addition to the Wilhite family. However the little one (or “big one” according to the ultrasound pics :o) ) seems to be perfectly satisfied with his/her surroundings at the moment. One of the boys said this morning, “Can’t you make the baby come out?” Ummmmmmmmmm – No. So we wait and stay busy with life and language learning in the process. Since the first day of fall, the air turned cool and the rain began to fall. There have only been a handful of dry days and even then they were cloud covered. If it were 15 degrees cooler, there would be a heap of snow outside. I suppose that will come soon enough. The boys have been going stir crazy inside, so in honor of the rain . . . When it rains it pours . . . Mistakes First of all, for those of you who don’t understand my sense of humor (AKA Pastor BP et al. :o) ) I am considering a boring, plain facts, sans humor, mailing list which will simply contain bullet statements about necessary events and prayer requests. It will make my last prayer letter look something like this. |

Wilhite's Weekday Wink - July 2, 2008 |

Just a quick note to add with the updates. We just got our phone and internet hooked up after quite a bit of rigmarole. Thanks for all of the e-mails (seventy something of them), I’ll get to answering them. No we weren’t hurt in the earthquake, yes we are alive and well, and yes there are updates. I am condensing the last six weeks worth of updates into one and hope to have it done by the weeks end. |

Wilhite's Weekday Wrap-Up (Part 3) - May 22, 2008 |
In the morning, Mrs. Evans had breakfast waiting for us, and we enjoyed a time of fellowship. We repacked the Smiths and the Minks vans and were able to squeeze in everything except for two totes, which we had shipped to Nayoro. We got a tour of Brother Evans work in Sapporo and then headed down the road. After several hours of driving we made it to Shibetsu, where the Minks live, and became reacquainted with the family (we had spent time with them on their last furlough.) After lunch we headed on up to Nayoro and stopped by our new home before continuing on to the Smiths. We were amazed at how big the house was and rejoiced at the Lord’s goodness. |

Wilhite's Weekday Wrap-Up (Part 2) - May 21, 2008 |

The Alarm went off at 4:30. Then again at 4:45 and 4:47. :o) Shellee and I pulled ourselves out of bed and began to get ready for the day. We got the boys up and loaded the last of our suitcases into the entourage (the men of the church loaded the bulk of it the night before), and then left about 5:45 for Indianapolis International Airport. We took one last glance around at our home for the past six years and thanked the Lord for all that He had done during that time. We made it to the airport and unloaded 18 totes, five suitcases, two strollers, 10 carry-ons, seven boys, two parents, and one seventeen year old girl (Linnea Coons) that was crazy enough to fly half way around the world with us. I took one last look at the Suburban and thanked the Lord again for providing it, and was reminded that the same Lord would be able to provide in Japan as well. |
